Sam talks about his work on the Commerce Select Committee, the Budget estimates debate and the Insurance Bill, as well as developments in the electorate.
MP for Maungakiekie Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga's regular update on activities in Parliament and his electorate.
"It's been a tough year," Sam, the MP for Maungakiekie, says - and indeed it has. But things are looking brighter and Sam talks his audience through what he's been involved in over the last few months before wishing everyone happy holidays.
Sam talks about his post-tsunami visit with the Prime Minister to Samoa, early childhood education (particularly in his Maungakiekie electorate), the poor quality of many state-owned homes and the need for repairs. He then talks about upcoming events in Parliament, prize-givings at schools in he electorate and extends wishes for a happy Christmas and New Year.
John and National's Maungakiekie candidate, Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, working at the Life School makeover of Tamaki Primary on Saturday. Tamaki Primary is a decile one school in Auckland. The event involved a one day makeover of the school using 500 volunteers and 200k worth of materials.
